My husband often says the words of A.W Tozer to me: “A saint must walk alone”. Although we can be surrounded by people, ultimately our walk with the Lord is a narrow path and a lonely one. People will leave and fail us, but there is one who stays closer than a brother. To be obedient to the call of God sometimes comes with a great cost. The question is, is He worth it? Sometimes the cross feels heavy to carry but the Lord is there to carry us. He will never leave us or forsake us. I wanted to dedicate this song to dear friends of ours Matthew and Abigail Hobbs. They have followed the upward call, they have counted all as loss in order to gain that which cannot be taken from them. As the old hymn says “I have decided to follow Jesus, no turning back, no turning back”.
Many thanks to my husband Ilir for filming! Filmed at Eastney, Southsea.
I’d love to hear your thoughts and if you haven’t subscribed already please do 🙂 Richest blessings!

CCLI Song # 7252875
Written, composed and performed by Sarah Begaj
Lord this journey can be so lonely
For a saint must walk alone
Though none go with me still I must follow
For a saint must walk alone
Chorus
I count all things as loss that I gain Christ the Lord
My life not dear to myself anymore
I will lay down all my rights To be a living sacrifice
That I may finish my race with joy
On this journey He goes before me
Oh a saint must walk alone
The cross grows heavy but Jesus carries me
Towards my eternal home
Chorus
Bridge
No turning back no turning back
Pressing forwards towards the upward call
No turning back no turning back
Pressing forwards towards the upward call
