Violin Maker

One of my memories growing up is the countryside walks my dad would take us on at the weekends. I would often be the one lagging behind, struggling to keep up. Now as I walk with my dad and he holds on to my arm with one hand and his walking stick in the other I reflect upon how quickly life goes by. I’m filled with gratitude that God gave me an earthly father who has cared for me and still continues to in his old age. This man is the maker or my violin which he crafted by hand for me inscribing it with the words “to the glory of God”. I realise that not everyone is blessed with a godly father they can look up to. But how precious that we have a heavenly Father who has made us heirs of His Kingdom, who is a father to the fatherless and sets the solitary in families (Psalm 68). He desires to walk with us and talk with us. That invitation is open to all!
