Two Sparrows

As I was sitting looking out at the garden, contemplating my croaky voice and imminent flight to Kosovo, two sparrows flew in and hopped between the bench and cherry tree. The Lord instantly brought to my mind Matthew 10:29-32:

“Are not two sparrows sold for a copper coin? And not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows. Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven”.

No sooner had I pondered on these verses, a cat appeared, stealthily creeping upon the grass, its eye also upon the sparrows. Immediately 1 Peter 5:8-9 came to mind:

“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world”…Indeed God has us firmly in His sight and our times are in His hands but we must be aware of our enemy who sneaks up on us unaware. Hope this can bless someone today.
