Song of Habakkuk – Original Christian Worship Song

This song came to me a couple of weeks ago as the Lord quickened to me Hebrews 10:38 “Now the just shall live by faith; but if anyone draws back, my soul has no pleasure in him.” The very same week the same passage from the book of Habakkuk was preached on and so I knew the Lord was speaking. Though the fig tree may not blossom and though the fields may yield no food, I will rejoice in the God of my salvation….There may be difficult days coming but we can continue to trust in the Lord and take joy in Him for He is a good God. Let us not draw back but press forwards towards the upward call, looking unto Jesus. May the Lord of the harvest begin to reap the fields and may His church be ready to be used by Him!

I’d love to hear your thoughts on this song. God bless you,
Sarah

Verse 1
Oh Lord revive Your work
In wrath remember mercy
Let the vision speak
For surely it won’t tarry

Verse 2
Your brightness like the light
The heavens clothed with glory
Praise will fill the earth
For You alone are worthy

Chorus
Though the fig tree may not blossom
Though the fields may yield no food
I’ll rejoice in the God of my salvation
Singing God You alone are good

Verse 3
The just shall live by faith
We’ll run and not grow weary
Help us not draw back
But see the vision clearly

Verse 4
The Lord God is our strength
His arm not short to save us
He’ll make our feet like deer’s
We’ll walk upon high places
Bridge
For the earth will be filled
With the knowledge of the glory
Of the Lord God Almighty
As the waters cover the sea
(REPEAT)
