Rock of my strength

“My soul, wait silently for God alone,
For my expectation is from Him.
He only is my rock and my salvation;
He is my defense;
I shall not be moved.
In God is my salvation and my glory;
The rock of my strength,
And my refuge, is in God.
Trust in Him at all times, you people;
Pour out your heart before Him;
God is a refuge for us. Selah ”
-Psalm 62:5-8

Yesterday as I was reading Jeremiah I realised even this great prophet of God was doubtful he could be used by God because he was “a youth”. God told him “Do not say I am a youth, for you shall go to all whom I send you”…At the end of the chapter God says “do not be dismayed before their faces”. We may have things God has told us to do that we feel are too big for us because we’re too young, too old, not confident enough, not clever enough…(fill in the blank)…But God won’t accept our excuses! He not only tells us to go but not to be dismayed before people’s faces! I love the verses in Psalm 62 above because they reaffirm that He is the immovable rock and we can be secure in Him and expectant from Him! He will defend you, he will be your strength and refuge. Our job is to trust Him, pour out our hearts before Him and do what He has asked fully confident in Him.😊
