Being Obedient to God’s call

When I left Bible college at 19 God led me to be a missionary in Kosovo. I deferred my university place for what was supposed to be a year ( it has now been 20!) and little did I know I would spend the next 6 years of my life there and meet my husband. During that time I would write regular newsletters with prayer requests and keep the church part of the ministry I was involved in….In 2007 we moved back to England, worked normal jobs, served in the church and had 2 children. Then 6 years ago God started to inspire me to write songs from scripture. I had no idea that I would make 2 albums and work alongside other musicians along the way….Here I am today, writing a newsletter again. You may wonder why?! The answer is not because I want to be known, to receive financial backing or even to share any pearls of wisdom!!! The answer is obedience!

I could come up with a long list of reasons I shouldn’t bother sharing my music, my testimonies etc. After all there are enough better voices, writers and musicians in the world! But God has called me to share my story, my songs. I am not qualified but praise God that makes me a candidate to be used by God. 1 Corinthians 1:27 “But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise… v29 that no flesh should glory in His presence”. I do not have any special earthly credentials, but God is not limited by that. I hope this can encourage someone today. Be obedient to what God is calling you to even if you feel unqualified. I’d love to hear your thoughts, testimonies 😊❤ (The newsletter will be out in the next few days on my website and fb)
